Each summer, Camp Mokulēʻia hosts an overnight camp program - Camp Ho'omana. This is a fun filled summer camp experience for young adults (ages 18-40) with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
With vibrant activities ranging from arts and crafts to nature hikes and adaptive sports, each day is filled with opportunities for creativity and self-expression. Trained staff and volunteers provide personalized support, fostering a sense of belonging and community among campers. Evenings are spent around the campfire, sharing stories and songs, creating lasting friendships. This nurturing space not only encourages personal growth but also celebrates each camper's unique abilities, making it a summer to remember for all.
This camp is provided for campers aged 18-40 with developmental or intellectual disabilities only.
Campers must be able to walk on rough terrain independently and take care of their own showering and toileting needs (including throughout the night). Campers who do not meet eligibility requirements may be asked to leave.
Our supportive and trained staff will be with each camper around the clock to help them gently step out of their comfort zone. We provide a ratio of 1 counselor for every 2 campers to ensure safety and provide support (1:1 ratios can be provided as needed). With the guidance of their counselor, each camper will have the opportunity to discover new friendships and interests while participating in all activities offered at camp.
